This part of the alt.archery FAQ contains a list of general books recommended by the readers of alt.archery. These books are ones considered useful by the person submitting it, and are listed only for your information. No flames, please. If the title is not self-explanatory, then a small comment will be provided. This is the one section where I will not credit any person with a contribution unless specifically requested to do so by the submitter. Rather, the credit for this section goes to all readers of the alt.archery group.
Some books may be listed twice, once just a listing, once with some more detail as to availability, comments, etc..

It is the best book I've read on the history of crossbows,long, recurve and compound (composite) bows.
More pictures and schematics than I've ever seen in a single book
It also covers Eurasian and Asian stuff
Unfortunately in Polish but worth translating or just looking at the schematics ESPECIALLY crossbows and compound (composite) "turkish" bows ( they are really Assyrian 5th cent. BC or older)
