New Book: "Wood for Archery" by the U.S. Forest Service, 1939.
A somewhat peculiar booklet from a forestry point of view on wood types that can be used for the manufacture of bows and arrows. Various types of woord, such as yew, osage orange, lemonwood are discussed on their origins and suitability for archery equipment. This booklet was clearly not written by an archer, bowyer or arrowsmith, but still makes interesting reading. Includes a book list and a list of archery equipment manufacturers of that time, very familiar names can be found on this list.
